Once again VLV finds itself holding its Spring Conference at a moment when the future of the BBC is in the headlines: BBC Three moving away from broadcast television, calls for licence fee evasion to become a matter for the civil courts and the debate gaining momentum about the very future of the licence fee. Our line up includes James Purnell, BBC Director of Strategy & Digital, on the challenges facing the BBC in the run-up to Charter Renewal, cahired by Robin Lustig; Is the BBC in crisis? with Tim Suter, Professor Jean Seaton and David Liddiment with Patrick Barwise, Emeritus Professor of Management and Marketing, London Business School on what if there were no BBC Television?, chaired by Professor Steve Barnett; Sophie Turner Laing , Managing Director for Content, BSkyB on pay television’s contribution to quality and diversity, chaired by Neil Midgley and Caroline Thomson, Chair, Digital UK on why terrestrial televison matters.
VLV Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting 2013, supported by Roberts Radio, will be presented at the conference.
