Celebrating Age Festival - VLV and Media Literacy

Saturday 29th June 2013 10:00 - Saturday 29th June 2013 18:00

Bristol City Council will again be running their popular ‘Celebrating Age’ festival
this summer and VLV will be taking part on Saturday June 29th at the City Hall.  You can read about it here.

If you live in the area why not drop in and meet us at our stand? The idea is
to persuade visitors to join up with one or more of the many organisations on
offer and VLV is hoping to recruit enough new members to support local events about broadcasting.

Guest speakers and visits to studios are already being planned. VLV member Rachel Bramble (rachelbramble@yahoo.co.uk) would like to hear from you if you’re interested or, better still, to see you on June 29th.

Admission is free and doors open at 10am for this all day event.

In a Media Literacy session VLV will be demonstrating  the advantages of
going on line with a variety of websites – from High Definition images from the
Prado to how to join a local choir or become a volunteer. And if you’re a
complete beginner, Bristol is the place to learn with its multitude of courses
and schemes for very cheap computers – all of which will be revealed at the
City Hall.
