BBC crises - re-occurring, terminal or exaggerated?  Jean Seaton, Professor of Media History, University of Westminster and author of the latest volume  of the Official History of the BBC,  will look at some of the re-occurring problems in BBC history: governance, politics, bias, how to achieve public service impartiality in practice (far more demanding to do than to say) and the role of the World Service.   She has written many books about the media's coverage of wars and about politics and policy making.  She is Director of the Orwell Prize. Chaired by Ian Soutar, Arts Editor, Sheffield Telegraph.
