Voice of the Listener & Viewer (VLV) has submitted its response to the Government’s consultation on the next BBC Charter Review. The response highlights the BBC’s vital role in UK democratic, cultural and creative life, and stresses the importance of maintaining its core principles: public ownership, a strong public service remit, public funding and universal access free at the point of use.
VLV also considers the challenges posed by the changing media landscape and sets out recommendations to help ensure the BBC remains a strong, independent public service broadcaster for the future.
